چکیده

--The riparian zone has important influences on the total stream ecosystem including the habitat of salmonids. Shade and organic detritus from the riparian zone control the food base of the stream and large .Toody debris influences channel morphology. Temporal and spatial changes in the riparian zone, the indirect influences of riparian vegetation on salmonids, and the effects of man's activities are discussed. Impact of Hindon River Water on Selected Riparian Flora (Azadirachta Indica and Acacia Nilotica) with special Reference to Heavy Metals

The present study aims to identify the impact of polluted aquatic body i.e. River Hindon on two selected riparian flora i.e. Azadirachta indica and Acacia nilotica. During the course of study the average concentration of different metals in river water was found as Iron (Fe) 11.27ppm±3.50, Manganese (Mn) 4.00ppm±1.26, Cadmium (Cd) 0.08ppm±0.07, Nickel (Ni) 0.63ppm±0.17 and Zinc (Zn) 1.46ppm±0.3...

How Tight Is the Linkage between Trees and Trout?

2 Assistant Professor of Aquatic Ecology, University of Maryland, Frostburg, Maryland. Abstract: This paper explores the tightness of the linkage between stream-dwelling salmonids and riparian vegetation. Comparison of original distributions of salmonid species with that of vegetation types shows that distribution within a given salmonid species is not limited to a specific vegetation type, and...

Fitting of two benthic fishes abundance Paracobitis hircanica and Neogobius fluviatilis Using Fuzzy Regression

Knowledge of biological requirements of aquatic organisms in perennial rivers is necessary for protection of biological diversity in riverine ecosystems. Habitat knowledge includes using models for estimating specific properties from physical structure of rivers by simple and accurate methods. Fuzzy regression model was investigated for two common endemic and benthic fishes, Paracobitis hircani...

The Importance of Riparian Vegetation to Stream Ecosystems

Ab$tract.--Riparian vegetation is very important in determining the structure and function of stream ecosystems. Most aquatic organisms, both invertebrates and fish, are directly or indirectly dependent on inputs of terrestrial detri tus to the stream for their food. Natural changes in riparian vegetation and the biotic processing of detritus, as well as other factors, determine the kinds and a...
